After learning it was my birthday, Emanuele brought out a self-moving birthday hat/toy, gave us free dessert and champagne, and made the whole restaurant sing for me..... I was equally so embarrassed and touched. Best birthday dinner ever.

Amazing atmosphere and service. The Italian hospitality and friendliness welcomes you into a delicious food experience. We got lucky to get a table, by getting there just minutes before they opened, but by the time we were finishing up our lunch the restaurant was completely packed, mostly locals. You get welcomed with a refreshing glass of wine and some appetizers. The place offers a small, but delicious, menu with their specialties.

Arrive get welcomed in the Italian way, quick, easy. Get a glass of wine from the house a small bit on the house, enjoy the busy street just outside of the student district. The food is classical done right. No fuss just good food. And compliments to the servers doing the work of 4 or 6 people with just the two of them

We ate here 3 times while in Bologna and every time was amazing! We were greeted with "welcome wine", delicous bread, and a plate of incredible appetizers (different each time). The Cavatelli with sausage, tomato, and pecorino was my favorite! The tagliata di manzo is a must, and don't forget the chocolate flan!!! Every single bite will be incredible!!

Amazing chef driven restaurant. They give you a glass of wine and a snack when you arrive, but the food is absolutely excellent. Tortellini in brodo was the best I ever had! Update...we came back after two years and the food was still incredible. The head owner is a hoot and if you ask him about wine he'll open 3 bottles with you and help you drink them. LOVE this place.

This restaurant is a MUST in Bologna! Worth traveling to Bologna just for this restaurant!! The food is incredible, the service is very welcoming, even for foreigners with little Italian and the atmosphere is homely. I will visit again many times and would highly recommend you visit. Emmanuel (owner) came to all the tables and took our orders. He sat down with me and asked where I was from and shared stories. Inside the restaurant is also beautiful with many paintings and interesting items. Don’t leave Bologna until you’ve been here!!
